Videos, Pictures, and Thoughts from Tulsa Game

What a great game by the Knights. As I said in my other posting, I think this could qualify as the best team we’ve beaten in the George O’Leary era depending on how Tulsa’s season shakes out. Very proud of the Knights, they showed a lot of character after the rough game last week against USF. I’m proud to say I didn’t jump off the bandwagon and lose faith, I said we still had a lot of season left and this game shows it. So here is my report…

  • Woke up to the sound of rain, well that and my uncle’s early wake up call. However it all but stopped by the time we got to D1 at 10:05am. Ended up being a perfect day in terms of whether as it never got too hot.
  • I just love tailgating on campus, it’s 1st class all the way. We did Italian beef sandwiches so it was great to be able to plug in all the crock pots to keep things hot for 4+ hours.
  • The game of cornhole requires teamwork and a certain amount of focus. I lacked both at times, it was a disappointing day.
  • Great to come home to a sellout after two tough losses, see video below. Only problem is we had a very late arriving crowd, and yet again another early leaving crowd. It’s great that we’ve been ahead so much in our 3 home wins, but why is everyone in such a rush to leave?
  • Tulsa got what they deserved by going over to taunt our student section at the game. That honestly got me more fired up than at any point this season and maybe all of last too. I’m completely sore today, I put in about 150% effort in cheering yesterday.
  • Gotta feel good for senior QB Kyle Israel. It’s his last year and he’s been a great student athlete and representative of UCF, so I’m happy that he came out and played a game that we all know he is capable of.
  • How about the wood our kicker Torres layed on that Tulsa kick returner, he looked like he was trying out for LB.
  • #87 Sergio Joachim, wow what a game and what a story.
  • I think if this team wins the turnover battle each game then they can win out. Turnovers are so key and it showed with us winning that battle 4 - 0.
  • Of course I got some Zombie Nation video, see below. Lots of scoring so lots of bouncing!
  • Gotta love the emotion the coaches showed on the sideline. I especially enjoyed the highlights in the Coach’s show where Jim Panagos going nuts after a big sack, he pretty much chest bumped anything and everything in sight.
  • Loved to see the football team coming over to the students and band after the game, I hope that we make a tradition out of this. I think it shows the fans how much they are appreciated!

Here are the pictures of the tailgate and game, got some good evening shots like the one below.
