UCF Releases 2008 Football Schedule
For the most part I love the schedule, my only minor complaints is that UTEP is so early in the year and back to back with Boston College. But that is simply a personal complaint as I plan on making both of those road trips!
So far we have 3 national televised games with USF, @Tulsa, and ECU with more possibly to come. Those three games are on non-Saturdays, but I have no problem with them as none of them are on a Tuesday or Wednesday and it ensures at least 2 NIGHT home games! USF is on a Friday night and I know will sell out anyway, and @Tulsa and ECU are on Sunday nights so we can still get in a full day of tailgating for the home ECU game!
Here’s the full schedule, but be sure to check out the release on UCFAthletics.com to read more about it.
Aug. 30 – South Carolina State
Sept. 5 (Fri.) – USF (ESPN)
Sept. 20 – at Boston College
Sept. 27 – at UTEP
Oct. 4 – SMU
Oct. 11 – at Miami (Fla.)
Oct. 26 (Sun.) – at Tulsa (ESPN)
Nov. 2 (Sun.) – East Carolina (ESPN)
Nov. 8 – Southern Miss
Nov. 15 – at Marshall
Nov. 22 – at Memphis
Nov. 29 – UAB
Should be an exciting year!

Copied from my postings on LJ and OrlandoSentinel.com:
We should have tried to take a shot at another Div 1-A school…but whatever. At least SC State isn’t a nobody Div 1-AA school – they are one of the most powerful Div 1-AA HBC/U’s and always have a good and solid football program…they pretty much own the MEAC in Div 1-AA.
The only real gripe/serious concern I have with this schedule is that the USF game is WAYYYYY to early in the season….but we shall see.
Miami will not be a joke this year…nor will BC. In fact, we could be playing the two teams that make it to the ACC championship.
I am looking forward to that SMU game, simply because June Jones has taken over…and we all know June Jones put the University of Hawaii on the map.
I was thinking about driving up to Chesnut Hill for the BC game…but we shall see…
