Pictures from Season Opening Game

Had some family in town this weekend so I’m a little late in getting these up. I mostly took pictures of the tsunami tailgate scene prior to the season opener versus SC State. We arrived just after 7:30am and had 4 great hours of rain-free tailgating before a pseudo tropical storm broke out on us. Lots of rain and more rain. But made for some new tailgating experiences as shown in the pictures and videos (shown below) such as frisbee splash & slide, old fashioned slip ‘n slide, and tailgate flood evacuation procedures. Luckily the Red Cross Disaster Relief truck was on site.

I’m proud to say that I thought of a new tailgate “game” idea over the off-season– tailgate tug of war and it’s debut was a smashing success. We had some great tailgate tug of war contests in the pouring rain with participants from lots of different tailgates in Memory Mall! The tug of war will definitely be back for USF!

I’m not going to speak much about the game itself. I think it’s hard to really evaluate because the weather conditions and the fact that the coaches were playing this one close to the vest. One thing is for sure I think we’re going to see a GREAT DEFENSE this year and as they say defense wins championships. Look for many posts on the USF game as the week progresses!
