Ouch…that hurt

That’s about what I felt like this past Saturday by about 1:30pm. That game pretty much left me speechless. I could go on, but I’d rather leave the negativity to other fans and the local media. Instead I’ll just say that I still have high hopes for the season as there are still six games left and a lot left to play for. As bad as we played in the past 6 quarters, I can remember how well we played the first two games against two BCS schools. The toughest part of our schedule is behind us (although the next 2 games will be extremely hard) so hopefully the team that played those first two games comes out for the rest of the season. if that happens we can still go bowling and maybe even win the conference. Keep the faith!!!

The key is the players cannot give up on this season after taking a loss like we did against USF. To help ensure that doesn’t happen as a fan you need to be in Bright House this Saturday vs Tulsa. Having the players run out into a half empty stadium will not help.

GO KNIGHTS!

PS- I’ll post pics and comments from our trip later this week, we had a great overall weekend in Tampa.

  1. Wow. This was one weekend I would love to forget.

I commend you for going to all of the away games that you go to, I have never been “that guy” like I was this weekend. I scored a club seat ticket, and let me tell you, I was truely an army of one in a sea of green. It got so bad at one point that I had to stop doing the UCF cheers, because I no longer wanted to be responsible for starting a cheer that ended up saying U-C-F sucks EVERYTIME. I was hoping our boys would do the talking for me on the field, but that obviously didn’t happen.

Honestly I was a bit overwhelmed, but I do give it to USF for generally being a good host. I was sure that after last year’s game and how I saw most USF fans being treated, that I would be cursed at more, but that only happened a few times. I think by the end of the game most of them actually felt bad for me. I think they were just suprised to see that no matter the score, I will cheer on my Knights till every last player is off the field.

Anyways as you said, we just need to focus on the upcoming game vs. Tulsa, and hopefully GOL will find a way to motivate our squad. Lets pack BHNS!

  2. I think I will be the first to say it…but It is time for a new coach.

    O’Leary isn’t getting it done.

  3. George has done wonderful things for our program as a whole, but on the field I feel that he isn’t doing enough to motivate our players to play hard. All I’m asking for is for him to show alittle bit of passion.

I think its way to early to say that we need a new coach, but things do need to change and improve. His postgame comments really got to me though, I can’t believe that he took no resposibility at all for the blowout on saturday. Its obvious that the players didn’t perform at an acceptable level, but to lose by 52 points and blame it all on our players is just ridiculous. The play calling was horrible, and he didn’t address that at all. Oh well, lets just move forward and hope that our Knights will be prepared for our upcoming match vs. Tulsa.

GO KNIGHTS! and don’t lose hope because we’ve got a lot of the season left to play.

    Your thoughts Jay?.

  4. I think it’s way to early to be talking about needing a new coach. All I can say is if I think back just two weeks ago I remember thinking about how I thought our program was headed in a great direction. I think it would be an overreaction to completely reverse on that train of thought.

We are 3-3 and have 6 games left to go. We can still have a great season. It all starts this Saturday with Tulsa…

Also if someone said we’d go 2-2 in October a few weeks ago I would have taken it. We can still do that…

  5. I agree, but at the same time I have my opinions. I am still curious to see what will happen the rest of this season.

If we flop, expect people to start complaining.
