Kevin Smith over Darren McFadden in NFL?

Check out this tidbit today from Matt Hayes with the Sporting News.

The best running back in the nation may not be
Arkansas’ Darren McFadden after all. UCF’s Kevin Smith is turning the
heads of NFL scouts. “I don’t know if McFadden, the way he runs, can
handle 16 games of pounding,” says one AFC scout. “Smith’s body is
sculpted. He has great vision and speed. He’s a beast.” This argument
will last through next April. Expect both juniors to leave early for
the NFL. . . .

Well that’s a case of good news / bad news if I’ve ever heard it. Great to hear that Kevin is possibly being considered as a better NFL back than McFadden who the press just absolutely loves but that last sentence makes me want to go run to my room, lock the door, and cry like a big baby. Well that’s a bit extreme, but I would be devastated not to see Kevin back next year, although I’d support him with whatever decision he makes. He deserves every good thing coming his way, from all accounts he is one of the hardest workers on the team.
