ESPN to Kevin Smith: We’re Sorry
Posted on December 11th, 2007 by jay
I finally got this piece off my DVR and on to my laptop so I could post on YouTube. This is one of my favorite ESPN clips ever for UCF as Scott Van Pelt from takes 30 seconds to apologize to Kevin for him being neglected all year.
Here’s his quote:
“Kevin we’re sorry we’re late to the party, we hope we’re not too late to show you a little love. It is much deserved”
Also here is some Heisman love from a writer with the Charlotte Sun of all places!

You know what will be great? When Kevin Smith runs for 200 yards against Mississippi State…the same team that limited “superstar” Darren McFadden to 80 yards. That will open some eyes and probably cause a few people to start saying “what the hell were we thinking not looking at this kid.”
For Pete’s sake, he is the only player who ran for over 100 yards on Texas this season!
I don’t care what conference you play for, getting 2,448 yards by your self in a single season is worthy of praise.
At least he was a consensus All American RB….
