Great Positional Analysis on Orl Sentinel

If you haven’t checked out the Sentinel lately then you’ve been missing the unbelievable job that Iliana Limon is doing over there. Here coverage and analysis has been fantastic on her Knights Notepad blog. Over the past week or so she has been breaking down the 2009 Football team position by position. I’d highly recommend you subscribe to her blog. Here are some posts, but again just I’d recommend finding some time and reading it all!

Great article about NFL interest in Joe Burnett

Not sure I want my boy to go to Cleveland, but it’s awesome to read how interested teams are becoming in Joe B. Hopefully he ends up at a team that will allow him to show off his talents as both a DB and a return specialist!

Good luck Joe!

Browns like what they see in Burnett

Tribute to Smokin’ Joe Burnett

This was done by UCFAuggie and is a great tribute of two of his best moments in Bright House Networks Stadium. Man this was fun to watch, but at the same time very sad. It’s going to be rough not seeing Joe B in a UCF uniform. He is without a doubt one of my favorite Knights all time. At least we’ll get to cheer him on in the NFL!

Gonna Miss Smokin’ Joe Burnett

Many Photos and Videos added including Spirit Splash

Finally got a chance to settle down and upload some photos over the past two games as well as Spirit Splash 2008. There’s really not much to say about what’s going on with the team except that I feel terrible for the 5 starting seniors that are starters and have given their all this year and over the past 4 years. I’m talking about Pat Brown and the awesome defensive backfield of Rashad, Venson, Neal, and Burnett. I hate that they have to go out on a losing season without a bowl trip. Regardless of how frustrated you may be with the team thanking those guys should be reason enough to come out to the last game on Thanksgiving weekend. On to the photos and videos, I’ll be honest it’s not my best work…I’ve been slacking.

Marching Knights put on a great show

It seriously was probably one of my favorite shows in the 20+ years I’ve been going to games. Great job Marching Knights!

On a related note we took tailgating to a new level with 2 TVs and Direct TV satellite to watch NFL package! Too bad that rain struck for much of the day, once again. Lastly your heart has to go out to the defense, especially the seniors DBs. Don’t give up on the team, get out there on homecoming and cheer them on. There are only 2 home games left and the players, especially the seniors that have done so much for this program deserve it!

UCF Tailgating start delayed to 12pm for ECU game

For the first time that I can remember, UCF tailgating will not start at 7am for next week’s home game on Sunday night versus ECU. You cannot start tailgating until noon for the 8pm game that will be broadcast on ESPN. I’m not too happy about this decision but for now I’ll just stick to reporting the facts. Beyond anything else I’m just wondering how UCF thinks its going to get the word out to all our fans that for the first time in ages tailgating can’t start at 7am only a week or so before the game?

UCF defeats Bye Week 17 - 0

Joe Burnett returns a kickoff and punt for a TD! Then on defense Joe drop kicks a pass thrown by Bye Week’s QB that ends up going through the uprights. After a long discussion the officials decide to give us 3 points for the amazing feat. The defense was lead by Rashad’s 3 interceptions and Young’s 18 tackles for loss. UCF’s offense took the bye week to heart and actually stayed home, literally, so UCF fans are still on pins and needles to see how they will improve next week against a ranked Tulsa.

The tale of two Cities
Miami and Orlando. One is a former giant of college football. The other is looking to be one someday. Both have fallen off in performance. Both are 2-3. Both are wanting to salvage the season. However, only one can win. Who will it be?
