Great column in Orlando Sentinel on UCF’s magical season, division champs!

UCF Hosts C-USA Championship Game!

UCF hosts the inaugural Conference USA Championship game at the Citrus Bowl on Saturday December 3rd at Noon. The opponent will be the West division champ which will be determined this weekend, it will either be UTEP or Tulsa.

Let’s support this team and FILL THE BOWL!

Welcome Home C-USA East Champs, pics posted

Wow, what a great time to be a KNIGHT fan- especially for all of us that have been following this team for the past 20 years. Who would have ever thought we would be hosting the first ever C-USA Championship game!? Can you believe it!!!

Hundreds of Knight fans went to the Wayne Densch center to welcome home our East Division Champs! It was magical, especially the little speech that O’Leary gave all the fans that stayed to the end- as he said: "This is only the beginning"

Basketball season opens vs Rollins with a WIN!

It wasn’t pretty, and I’m sure many Knights fans expected to win by more. BUT, a win is a win- there was a great crowd and atmosphere- and you gotta give some credit to Rollins they played well. With some better free throw shooting and an improved inside game and we’ll be okay.

I took a few pictures at the game, including the Torchy Clark halft-time court dedication ceremony. Nothing too great as my camera doesn’t do well from my seats, but if you’d like to see them click here, or click the Pictures link to the left.

UCF wins at UAB- Roadtrip Pics Posted

Well my Knights gave us another FUN ride home on Sunday, it’s great not having to play the what-if game for 9 hours! Glad I was able to make another roadtrip with my uncle, we’ve gone to so many away games in the past only to come up empty- so to get 2 straight wins is sweet!

Pictures have been posted from the trip, click here or click Pictures link on the left. Didn’t take many- but there are some interesting shots. Unfortunately things don’t look to great for our fellow CUSA member UAB as they had terrible support for their final game, considering they were playing to become bowl eligible. Regardless now with USM’s loss if we beat Rice we play in the first ever CUSA Championship Game! Wow…who’d have guessed that?!

Top 10 Observations from UAB trip

  1. Unbelievable Parking/Tailgating situation at UAB. As pics will show we were able to park about 15 yards from the gate for $8 less than 2 hours before kickoff. Also hardly any great UAB tailgating going on and we walked around whole stadium. Sad :(
  2. Not trying to throw UAB under the fire, but also disappointed to see so little UAB colors in the stands. Easily more than half the home crowd was wearing other colors like red and blue. Also noticed on the 50 yd line home side prime seats was a pee wee league football team…how’s that happen?
  3. Not impressed with Legion Field sorry to say, it needs some work to say the least. Also disappointed I couldn’t get a MtDew when there was a giant MtDew sign on the scoreboard.
  4. Nice UCF crowd there, although we were pretty spread out b/c all the room we had. Someone even mentioned the idea of moving over a section towards the 50 with each score! Nice to see the TD push ups and doing the 1st cheers!
  5. The team coming back from being down 11 shows me they are a team that just knows how to win period. I admit I was pretty worried, but they didn’t buckle when the easily could have so big props- I love this team.
  6. Matt Prater is BACK
  7. UAB’s campus seems nice appears spread out across a decent size section of Birmingham
  8. If you ever go to Birmingham you gotta go to Dreamland BBQ, great food and great experience, very unique.
  9. We had a BLAST listening to the UGA/Auburn game on the way back to Atlanta where we were staying that night. For comic value I wish I could have Larry Munson call every game I listen to (well except UCF) we never laughed so hard.
  10. It’s nice not to run out of gas on the way home and have to get picked up by a player’s parents for a change

Homecoming: A great day, an awesome Knight!

UCF is BOWL ELIGIBLE, yes you heard me right! From 0-11 and the nation’s longest losing streak to bowl eligibility- these Golden Knights are making believers out of this community. In addition to an exciting game with a great atmosphere, we also had a wonderful tailgate with over 88 people in attendance– the largest we’ve ever had! I also got 45 tix in our section to go with the 36 seats we already had- 81 total from our group in section 210!

To see the pics of the parade, tailgate, and game click on the Pictures link to the left or click here. Also I took a few low res videos as I was lucky enough to obtain two sideline passes for this game, see links below for those…

Spirit Splash 2005!

I took the day off to head to the O’Leary Luncheon and Spirit Splash. Worked out great for me because I won two sideline passes at the luncheon and Spirit Splash was great to take in as always- it’s something that is really unique to UCF!

As you might imagine, I took a few pics- to see them click Pictures link on left or click here. Also I took a few low res videos with my camera, click links below:
